چکیده

Background Idiopathic inflammatory myopathies (IIM) are a heterogeneous group of acquired muscle diseases, which have distinct clinical, pathological and histological features. Autoantibodies clinically useful biomarkers to help the diagnosis IIM. Raynaud’s phenomenon is very frequent presence microvascular changes in IIM been described however, role nailfold videocapillaroscopy NVC) for prognosis not clearly established. Objectives The aim this study was relationship between clinical immunological characteristics (NVC) abnormalities patients with idiopathic (IIMs). Methods We performed retrospective followed University Hospital. Patients underwent NVC at 200x magnification. Epidemiological, data antibody status, including myositis scleroderma panel all retrieved. findings loss capillary density, enlarged giant capillaries, ramified haemorrhages, thrombosis, avascular areas, disorganization architecture subpapillary venous plexus were recollected, if present. For comparison qualitative and/or quantitative variables Fisher’s exact Test or T-test when necessary. Results 95 during follow-up included (66% female) median age inclusion 55.3±24 years. Median duration 6.8±7 39% had first evaluation 58% them showed findings. Quantitative nailfold video capillaroscopy in patients with idiopathic inflammatory myopathy.

OBJECTIVES To quantify nailfold capillary density and dimensions in patients with idiopathic inflammatory myopathy (IIM) and compare them with those in healthy controls; to look for associations with microvascular disease in IIM; and to determine whether nailfold capillary density and dimensions change over time. METHODS Nailfold video microscopy (x300 magnification) was performed on 24 patie...

Inflammatory myopathies in childhood: correlation between nailfold capillaroscopy findings and clinical and laboratory data.

OBJECTIVE Nailfold capillaroscopy is an important tool for the diagnosis and follow-up of patients with rheumatic diseases, in particular dermatomyositis and scleroderma. A relationship has been observed in adults between improved capillaroscopic findings and reduced disease activity. Our aim was to correlate disease activity (clinical and laboratory data) and nailfold capillaroscopy findings i...

Autoantibodies in Idiopathic Inflammatory Myopathies

Autoimmune response to nuclear and cytoplasmic autoantigens is detected in about 60-80% of patients affected with idiopathic inflammatory myositis such as polymyositis (PM), dermatomyositis (DM) and inclusion body myositis (IBM). Some of the serum autoantibodies are shared with other autoimmune diseases (myositis-associated antibodies MAA) and some of them are unique to myositis (myositis-speci...

[Myositis specific and myositis associated autoantibodies in idiopathic inflammatory myopathies: a serologic study of 46 patients].

OBJECTIVE To characterize serum autoantibody profiles of patients with idiopathic inflammatory myopathies (IIM) by searching for myositis-specific (MSA) and myositis-associated (MAA) antibodies with sensitive and specific laboratory tests. METHODS We tested the sera from 46 Caucasian patients diagnosed as affected with IIM at the Division of Rheumatology of Padova University (21 polimyositis,...
